   Welcome to the website for Perma-Pelent, the invisible water repelent for above grade masonry!  Perma-Pelent is a product of Valley Stucco and Putty Plant, Inc., a company that has been family owned for three generations and has more than 75 years experience in the building material industry.  Perma-Pelent is a concentrated sealant that is composed of inorganic substances.  When applied, Perma-Pelent soaks into the pores of masonry surfaces and binds itself both mechanically and chemically to form an insoluble film.  Unlike comparable masonry sealants, Perma-Pelent will NOT discolor your masonry, nor will it clog up the pores!  Most masonry media are both permeable and porus.  In fact, when viewed up close, one can see that masonry products such as brick, stone, and mortar are really composed of tiny walls that are honeycomed together.  This creates small air pockets which leaves the masonry susceptible to water and debris entry.   Upon entering the masonry, the water will be absorbed like a sponge.  This translates to damp interior walls, disintegrating plaster, warped wodwoork, and peeling paint and wallpaper.  The end result of water penetration is an unattractive and potentially structually unsound surface.
